The Making of a Widget
- Sketch out the desired design onto the desired graph paper
- Transfer the final sketch into Inventor software
- Once the 2D image is made select the extrude button to make the image a 3D shape
- Now that the 3D image is finished it needs to be transferred to MakerBot software.
- Once in the MakerBot software double check the dimensions
- Now that everything is sized and shaped properly save the information to a flash drive
- Take the flash drive to the MakerBot 3D printer and insert it
- Last but not least select the file with the designated design
What I have Learned
Through this whole process I was introduced to a lot of new software and machines. I learned better overall typing skills. I learned how to navigate Inventor software, MakerBot software, and how to use a 3D printer.
